Summer 2025 Wardrobe Additions
2025 continues to be slow in terms of sartorial purchases… I added even fewer items to my wardrobe this past summer than I did in spring. Honestly, it was almost like a switch flipped in my brain and I realized I do not need to be buying new clothes. I know I have too many clothes as it is. I placed only one order during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year (and nailed it if I do say so myself).
Below, I rounded up everything I added to my wardrobe this past summer! All of my 2025 clothing purchases can be found on this Pinterest board. I also shared the items I tried and returned and what’s coming up for fall!

Summer 2025 Clothing Budget & Wardrobe Additions

Items I added to my wardrobe:
Le Specs Air Heart 51mm Gradient Cat Eye Sunglasses (paid $53 | originally $75)
I ordered my first pair of Le Specs Air Heart sunglasses a few years ago (also in the Nordstrom sale), and I’ve been in love ever since. I just love the style so much! I added another color (pink!) to the mix this time, though I’ve yet to wear them.
Zella Breathe Active Tank (paid $26.50 each | originally $35 each)
To my workout classes, I typically only wear a sports bra because I get hot so quickly, but sometimes it’s nice to have an extra layer to start with (especially as it gets chillier). I didn’t have any activewear tanks before I bought this one. I purchased it in sizes small and medium and couldn’t decide on which I liked more, so I kept both. I like that the small has smaller arm holes, but the medium doesn’t cling to my stomach as much.
Zella Effortless Square Neck Midi Dress (paid $63.50 each | originally $89 each)
I saw a few bloggers/influencers I follow share this dress, and I knew I had to give it a try myself. I absolutely love this dress! It’s one of my favorite Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases; it feels like it was made for me. I received the grey moonbeam dress first and wore it a few times before the black dress even showed up. They feature built-in shelf bras, so no need to wear another bra! I ordered these dresses in sizes small and medium and ended up keeping the smalls.
Zella Studio Luxe Pocket Bike Shorts (paid $22.50 | originally $69)
I ordered these bike shorts in black in the Nordstrom sale last year and decided to add another color (navy) to my activewear collection this year. I’ve been wearing exclusively bike shorts to my workout classes so I don’t overheat! I prefer these bike shorts in size medium so they aren’t too tight around the midsection.

Wedding guest dress
I’m headed to a cousin’s wedding later this month and don’t really have something to wear to a church wedding in my closet right now, so I’m on the hunt. I’m considering trying Quince’s washable silk, but I’m also open to recommendations if there’s a particular dress or other wedding-appropriate garment you’ve purchased recently and love!
Other than that, I really don’t have my eyes on anything in particular. We’ll see what happens with my birthday and holiday sale season coming up. I’m trying to limit my new clothing purchases for the rest of the year, clean more items out of my closet, and list things on Poshmark!
