Spring 2025 Wardrobe Additions

2025 was off to a slow start in terms of sartorial purchases, which is a good thing! I’m proud of myself for not going overboard. I’m hoping to continue that throughout the year. I did place one large order in March (but returned most of it) and added a few new items to my wardrobe in April and May.

Below, I rounded up everything I added to my wardrobe this past spring! All of my 2025 clothing purchases can be found on this Pinterest board. I also shared the items I tried and returned and what’s coming up for summer!

Spring 2025 Clothing Budget & Wardrobe Additions

$600 (quarterly budget) = $600 - $502 ($57 March + $42 April + $403 May) => $98 left over

Items I added to my wardrobe:

In late winter, I ordered six pairs of Abercrombie jeans in five different styles and reviewed them. Out of all six pairs, the 90s relaxed jean was the only pair I kept outright without returning or exchanging them. I’ve worn them a ton since then! I opted for size 26 in the extra short inseam (26”), and they fit perfectly without feeling too relaxed through the leg.

I’ve been wanting to try Athleta leggings, so I ordered these in black, size small petite (25” inseam, which is what I order in Lululemon) after reading reviews. Unfortunately, I think I would be more comfortable in size medium instead of small; they feel very compressive and borderline too snug through the legs and hips. I missed the return window, though…

Side note: I didn’t realize until I was putting this post together that Athleta also offers these leggings in 7/8 length, in which the regular length inseam is 25” and petite inseam is 23”.

Last budget update, I said I couldn’t stop looking at these absolutely stunning velvet loafers... so I made them mine when they went on deep sale this spring! I tried Boden loafers a year ago, and they didn’t quite fit me in size 37 (my usual Euro size, though I’m typically a US 7), so I ordered these in size 38. They fit better than the 37s but will require some inserts to keep them on my feet.

I found myself browsing the Boden website and specifically their dresses and skirts because I’m down to only two skirts and both are listed on Poshmark. I fell in love with this super fun lemon and cherry print that immediately transported me back to Italy!

I thought it could be a fun option for my brother’s recent wedding, but I ended up wearing something else. I’m keeping this because it’s so fun and fits me perfectly in size 8 petite! I love the elastic back and side pockets.

Did I need another pair of leggings? No! Did I have another Amex offer to use and want another pair because I wear my black leggings so much (especially when traveling)? Yes! These leggings come with me on pretty much every trip now. This brown pair is gorgeous, and I think it’ll be the perfect option for hikes! I bought my usual size 6.

I love my green quarter zip sweatshirt so much that I pounced on the same sweatshirt in black when I saw one available on Poshmark—brand new! My green sweatshirt has become a travel go-to for me, and I didn’t have a black sweatshirt; I think this one will be a travel go-to for me as well (just have to keep it away from the cats!). I took a size small.

It should be no surprise to anyone that I keep buying Uniqlo’s ribbed cropped bra tops (first purchased summer 2023, even more purchased spring 2024). I wear one pretty much every single day during the summer! This year, I added two new colors to my closet, but I’ll be honest: I’m eyeing a couple more LOL. I’m most comfortable in size medium.

Items I tried and returned:

I ordered a bunch of curve love denim styles to try during a great sale Abercrombie had at the end of winter. The two pairs of straight leg jeans I owned prior to now are too big, so I tried reordering the same styles in smaller sizes as well as a few other styles so I could figure out what I liked and share a big Abercrombie jeans review.

I ended up outright returning the cropped wide leg jean (far too large in the waist, overwhelming through the legs) and one of the pairs of ankle straight jeans (sold out of my size in the light wash). I exchanged the others, some for color and all for fit. I ended up returning all of the jeans I exchanged mostly because I didn’t get excited about them like I did with the 90s relaxed jeans that I kept. Listen to your gut!

What’s on deck for summer:

I’m not eyeing much this summer, because honestly, I need to just wear what I have and save my money for other things (like vet bills and travel). BUT, I do still have my Quince credit sitting around waiting to be used. Will I finally use it on some cotton gauze pieces? Maybe! Those are the only things I’ve really been considering as of late.
